Tolroy ManorTolroy Manor Swimming Pool

Our 2 properties are on the Tolroy Manor holiday park.  Its not a large park but for me, its better for this because its more intimate and relaxed, whilst still have what as a parent are lifesavers; friendly, helpful staff,  a lovely little play area with bench seating for the parents to sit and supervise, a heated indoor pool, a shop and a restaurant.  Tolroy Manor is under 10 minutes drive to a choice of gorgeous west Cornwall beaches and just 15 minutes to both St Ives and Penzance, so a perfect base for exploring all that west Cornwall has to offer….although a week won’t be enough!

The park team work hard all year round to support the local wildlife and have recently been awarded the David Bellamy gold standard for conservation  award.  Around the park you’ll find lots of bird-boxes (including one for owls), bug hotels and hedgerows designed specifically to attract and support wildlife, especially our endangered honeybees.

Park History

Tolroy Manor has a fascinating history. It was occupied by the Trevithick family during the 1800s. This family along with the Harvey family of Hayle, were world renowned for their work in developing the high pressure boilers and pumping engines which were paramount in the development of industry across the world.  John Harvey Trevithick who lived at the beautiful manor house during the 1800s, came from a famous engineering family. His father Richard Trevithick, whose road locomotive climbed Camborne Hill on Christmas Eve 1801, has been described as “a pioneer of the Industrial Revolution and undoubtedly one of the greatest engineers to have ever lived.” The last member of the Trevithick family to live at Tolroy was in 1941.

Tolroy Manor has grown and developed over the years to become a unique site on the hillside above Hayle, looking towards the sea and St. Ives.

The park now…

Since 2011 this park under new management has gone from strength to strength.  With refurbishments and upgrades every year.  This has in turn encouraged new owners like ourselves who are investing in the properties.  So staying at Tolroy Manor just gets better and better.

The park facilities include

  • Heated Indoor Swimming Pool
  • Clubhouse with free WiFi
  • Bar, serving bar meals daily
  • Foxy Club for the under 13’s
  • Crazy Golf
  • Tennis Courts (newly refurbished for 2013)
  • Squash Courts
  • Table Tennis
  • Snooker Table (for over 18’s)
  • Small soft play area (for the under 5’s)
  • Park with swings, slides and climbing frames
  • Shop
  • Launderette

Please note: that whilst you can book our cottage all year round, the parks facilities are open between Early March to Early November.

Our properties are great places to stay, whether you intend to use the park facilities or not. Not only are they within 2 miles to the nearest beaches but also are central to all the key places to visit in West Cornwall.  In fact we love staying at the park just as much in the winter when the main site is closed down, for bracing walks on the beach and exploring the many pretty little villages nearby.

Tolroy Manor is under 2 miles from the stunning beaches of Hayle and Gwithian Towans. You are also only a couple of minutes (you could actually walk it) to the award winning Paradise Park. This is a family owned wildlife sanctuary with so much to see and do that one visit is never enough. It’s also great for families with young children as there’s an indoor and outdoor play area. so somewhere to go whatever the weather.
